Lily Holbrook (BA)
Research Associate / Design Team
Lily has developed sophisticated and sound insights to what makes spaces and places successful, attractive and functional through formal study of architecture, cities and regeneration (with first-class honours in History of Art from the University of Sussex) combined with independent travel (including volunteering at a children’s refuge in Chennai).
Lily has provided education and interpretation programmes for socially disadvantaged young people in southeast England with Widening Participation – an initiative that democratises access to higher education. She’s also worked at Fabrica Gallery, the Brighton Royal Pavilion and the National Portrait Gallery on a range of community engagement and creative co-creation projects for children and young people.
Lily is strongly motivated to address environmental challenges through practical interventions that improve everyday quality of life at the local level. She’s engaged in a number of initiatives aiming to improve the public realm, create better spaces for walking and cycling and improve the immediate environment around her home in East Sussex.
Lily provides design, research and project management support to the Human Nature design team.
She’s a keen sea swimmer and hopes to complete her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training course in 2021.
